Youth representatives from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the South-South region have issued a stern warning against potential electoral fraud during the 2027 polls. During a two-day strategy session in Port Harcourt, the group emphasized their insistence on conducting a transparent and fair electoral process. The attendees officially committed to securing 30 million votes for the party’s presidential ticket, featuring Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi.
Hon. Uloho Obaro, the National Youth Leader (Female), explained that the party plans to launch a vigorous grassroots outreach program to boost their electoral performance. Obaro stressed that the party is prepared to oppose any efforts to subvert the will of the electorate, ensuring that local votes carry weight in the upcoming competition.
The summit host and Rivers State ADC Youth Leader, Comrade Omiete Yellowe, praised the party’s decision to name former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi as the vice-presidential candidate. Yellowe believes this selection will encourage higher voter turnout, citing Amaechi’s previous tenure as governor as a testament to effective governance. Regional leaders from Cross River and Delta states, specifically Anase Michael and Ukwanewe Godstime, echoed this sentiment, noting that increased youth involvement in the party’s national committee has strengthened their resolve to succeed in 2027.
