Soludo Commends Tinubu for Authorizing Major Southeast Infrastructure Projects

Governor Charles Soludo expresses appreciation for President Tinubu’s approval of two essential road networks in the South-East, citing them as key steps toward regional economic renewal.

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has lauded President Bola Tinubu for sanctioning the design and procurement of two significant federal road initiatives in the South-East. Soludo characterized this decision as a purposeful strategy to foster regional reconstruction and address historical grievances following the Nigerian Civil War.

The Governor detailed that these approvals resulted from his July 1 meeting with President Tinubu and further consultations with Works Minister Dave Umahi. Following the meeting, Umahi requested specific priority road data, which Soludo provided on July 3. The proposed projects include the 108-kilometre Otuocha–Anam–Abaji Road connecting to Kogi State, and the 150-kilometre route spanning Oba, Nnewi, Uga, and Ihube, which links Anambra and Imo states to the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway.

By July 15, the Ministry of Works confirmed that the President had officially greenlit the designs and procurement for both corridors. Soludo emphasized that these roads serve as vital catalysts for development across the South-East, South-South, and North-Central zones by enhancing regional trade and transport links. Highlighting the President’s leadership, Soludo noted that the individual who managed coastal infrastructure in Lagos is now reshaping the national political landscape. He concluded that such cooperation between state and federal authorities sets a positive precedent for future development, ensuring President Tinubu is recognized for these infrastructure milestones.
