Sharafadeen Alli Officially Accepts INEC Nomination as APC Oyo Governorship Candidate

Senator Sharafadeen Alli has officially received his INEC nomination forms for the 2027 Oyo State governorship race, naming Michael Adedeji as his running mate while calling for party unity.

On Thursday, Senator Sharafadeen Alli formally accepted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form, confirming his position as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Oyo State election. During the ceremony, he introduced Michael Adedeji, a 46-year-old Economics graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University, as his running mate. Adedeji, a native of Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, joined the Senator at the event.

Moses Alake Adeyemo, the Oyo State APC Chairman and former deputy governor, urged party members to foster unity to secure victory in 2027. He emphasized that the APC remains the best choice for the state’s future and encouraged disgruntled members to reconcile for the sake of the party’s success. Gbenga Olayemi, the APC Deputy National Auditor, presented the forms and framed Alli’s candidacy as a collective movement rather than a solo effort.

In his acceptance address, Senator Alli described the nomination as a joint success for all party members, vowing to lead with integrity, transparency, and inclusivity. He thanked President Bola Tinubu, party leadership, and security services for their support. He also invited former opponents to unite behind the party, stressing that Oyo State requires a leader who addresses the needs of all citizens regardless of their background. His policy goals include advancing agriculture, healthcare, education, and infrastructure while aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adedeji expressed his gratitude for the nomination and his optimism for a party victory in the upcoming election. The event featured numerous prominent APC stakeholders, including Ayo Adeseun, Femi Lanlehin, and Fatai Ibikunle, who gathered to support the official launch of the campaign.
