Sam Anyanwu Claims It Is His Time to Govern Imo State in 2027

PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu has declared his intention to lead Imo State in 2027, stating that after the tenures of three former PDP-aligned governors, it is his turn to hold office.

Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asserted that he is the rightful successor to lead Imo State following the tenures of Ikedi Ohakim, Emeka Ihedioha, and the incumbent, Hope Uzodimma. Speaking at a launch event for the ‘Polling Unit Movement for Sam Daddy’ in Owerri, Anyanwu highlighted that since the other three leaders originated from the original PDP in the state, equity dictates he should be granted the opportunity to lead.

Addressing the challenges of political ambition, Anyanwu acknowledged that power must be pursued actively rather than expected. He remains committed to his bid, noting that the PDP is currently experiencing a resurgence in strength and membership. He described the party as the primary entity trusted by the populace, pledging that the PDP would not disappoint its constituents.

To ensure electoral integrity, the PDP leader instructed his supporters to mobilize in rural areas and monitor polling stations closely. He dismissed potential opposition tactics, claiming his party is prepared for any electoral challenges. Anyanwu also emphasized the role of grassroots organizations like ‘Divine Mandate’ and the ‘Mass Movement for Sam Daddy’ in bolstering his campaign for the upcoming election cycle.
