Reports indicate that the incident occurred in January 2023 within the Alcobendas area of Madrid, when a gate left ajar allowed four of the footballer’s dogs to leave the premises.
Court documents reveal that the private prosecution is seeking a six-month jail term for the 31-year-old on charges of gross negligence resulting in injury. Additionally, the public prosecutor is pursuing financial penalties for minor injury offenses. Witnesses stated that one dog attacked another animal, which eventually had to be euthanized, while a 17-year-old was bitten while attempting to help.
Mendy joined the Spanish giants in 2019 following a move from Lyon, though his tenure has been frequently hindered by physical setbacks.
