Raul Fernandez of Trackhouse Racing claimed his second career MotoGP win at Silverstone, leading the British Grand Prix from the very first lap. Crossing the finish line 2.5 seconds ahead of his rivals, the 25-year-old rebounded impressively from a sprint race crash the previous day. This victory marks his first win since last year’s Australian Grand Prix.
Championship leader Jorge Martin started from pole position but encountered technical trouble at the first turn. Although he fell to fourth momentarily, Martin fought back to secure second place, extending his championship advantage to 31 points. Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium in third, elevating himself to second in the overall standings, while Ai Ogura dropped to third after recording his first DNF of the season.
Defending champion Marc Marquez managed a seventh-place finish, placing him fourth in the title hunt. The race saw significant attrition as Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Enea Bastianini, Iker Lecuona, Cal Crutchlow, and Francesco Bagnaia all failed to complete the event. MotoGP also confirmed this week that Silverstone will host the British Grand Prix until at least 2028. The series continues on August 30 for the Aragon Grand Prix.
