Professor Nora Ladi Daduut has officially started her tenure as Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Korea. She submitted her Letter of Credence to President Lee Jae Myung during an event at the Blue House in Seoul.
This ceremony took place on Wednesday, marking the formal accreditation of eight new ambassadors, including representatives from Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Laos, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Tanzania. Following standard diplomatic requirements, these envoys presented credentials from their home nations to the host president to authorize their official duties.
Daduut, now recognized as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, aims to enhance the bilateral ties between Nigeria and South Korea. Her focus areas include expanding trade, investment, technological collaboration, education, and cultural engagement. She expressed her commitment to advancing Nigeria’s national interests while fostering partnerships that benefit both countries.
Addressing the Nigerian community in South Korea, the ambassador promised an inclusive approach, emphasizing her dedication to their welfare and the promotion of business and academic cooperation. She expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his trust and pledged to prioritize the attraction of Korean innovation and investment to assist Nigeria’s economic progress. Prior to the ceremony, Daduut engaged with Kim Young Chae, the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, to explore further cooperation opportunities.
