President Bola Tinubu has formally congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his recent governorship win in Ekiti State. According to the President, this victory serves as a strong endorsement of stability and governance that prioritizes the public interest.
The Independent National Electoral Commission officially named the All Progressives Congress candidate as the winner on Sunday. This result makes Governor Oyebanji the first individual in the history of the state to secure consecutive terms in office.
President Tinubu lauded the electorate for their calm behavior during the voting process and praised security personnel for ensuring safety throughout the event. He also encouraged the electoral commission to maintain high standards of fairness for upcoming contests in Osun and the national elections next year.
In a statement issued by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, the administration noted that Oyebanji’s previous term delivered substantial progress in areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment. This new mandate is viewed as a continuation of those developmental goals.
