Authorities in Adamawa State have detained two individuals for attempting to move 150,000 capsules of Tramadol, valued at N5.25 million. The suspects, 27-year-old Bashiru Ibrahim and 26-year-old Mustapha Labbo, both from Jamtari, were intercepted while traveling to Garwa, Cameroon.
Suleiman Nguroje, the police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests occurred on August 11, 2026, when a Yola Area Command patrol team stopped the men near Dabala Village. Officers discovered 150 packs of the medication during the search. The men and the seized drugs are currently held by police as the investigation continues to identify the origin of the supply and potential accomplices. Commissioner of Police Kabir Hassan stated that the command remains dedicated to halting drug trafficking across the region.
In an unrelated incident, a young child was discovered at the Temporary Market Bypass by a local named Shitu Mahmudu. The child has been placed under police care at the Yola Division but has been unable to provide details regarding his family or background. Officials are encouraging anyone with information regarding the child’s identity to contact the Yola Divisional Police Officer directly or visit their local station.
