The Kebbi State Police Command has launched an investigation into claims regarding the reappearance of the Sai Malam group within the Argungu Local Government Area. SP Bashir Usman, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that authorities are actively looking into these reports to confirm their validity.
Officials emphasized that the Sai Malam group holds no official status as a prohibited terrorist organization. Previous legal actions taken against members in February 2026 in Zuru focused on various criminal allegations. At that time, police seized items including counterfeit currencies from Nigeria, the United States, Libya, and the CFA zone, alongside materials suspected to be used for ritualistic purposes. Notably, investigators found no weapons during these operations.
The Command remains dedicated to upholding peace and enforcing the law against criminal behavior. SP Usman encouraged the public to stay composed and assist security services by reporting useful information to help ongoing efforts.
