Photos Emerge of Nick Reiner’s Arrest for Allegedly Murdering Parents Rob and Michele
Dramatic photographs capturing the arrest of Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, have been released by authorities following their alleged murder on Sunday, December 14.
The photos, shared by the LAPD Gang and Narcotics Unit on Monday, December 15, show Nick Reiner being detained near a Metro station, approximately 15 miles from the couple’s California home.

One image depicts him forced to the ground with his hands cuffed behind his back, while another shows law enforcement pressing him against a patrol car. The unit’s caption only identified him as “a double homicide suspect.” The arrest was executed by US Marshals with assistance from the LAPD’s robbery homicide division.
Nick Reiner, who has a well-documented history of drug addiction and mental health struggles, was apprehended on murder charges for allegedly stabbing his parents.

He is currently being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles and was reportedly placed on suicide watch immediately following his arrest.
Sources indicated that the fatal incident may have been preceded by a “very loud argument” involving Nick, Rob, and Michele Reiner at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday.
A lifelong family friend suggested that the conflict likely stemmed from Nick’s alleged refusal to enter another drug rehabilitation facility, despite having already completed at least 17 prior stays, and the parents’ fear over his deteriorating mental state.

The neighbor claimed Nick was “badly addicted to a combo of opiates and heroin.” Furthermore, Nick’s sister, Romy Reiner (28), who discovered her parents’ bodies, reportedly told investigators that her brother “should be a suspect” because he is “dangerous.”

The entire family had been photographed together just months earlier at the “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” premiere in September 2025.
