Singer Peter Okoye has accused his brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of filing a new lawsuit intended to bar him from singing P-Square tracks. Peter shared these claims in a video on his social media platform as a rebuttal to Jude’s earlier statements regarding the ownership of the P-Square brand and their business conflicts.
Peter clarified that this new legal action is distinct from the current case involving Northside Music and the police, noting his role in that matter is strictly as a witness. He explained that during a recent hearing, Jude, backed by Paul Okoye, attempted to obtain a court order prohibiting him from performing the group’s music.
Furthermore, Peter challenged Jude’s assertion that he initiated the group’s move to Lagos in 2005. Peter argued that the duo had already established their career by then, having released their debut album in 2003 and signed prior management deals. Peter stated that Jude was still a student during those early years and asserted that his brother’s account of their history is false. According to Peter, he personally funded their initial housing in Lagos by selling his vehicle, insisting that he and Paul actually supported Jude rather than the reverse.
These developments unfold within the context of an extended disagreement among the brothers concerning P-Square’s intellectual property, management, and financial interests. Jude Okoye has not yet issued a public response to these specific allegations.
