OK Movement Criticizes Keyamo Over CCTV Evidence in Peter Obi Airport Dispute

The OK Movement has hit back at Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, arguing that the poor quality of his released CCTV footage regarding Peter Obi’s airport dispute raises serious security concerns for the nation.

The OK Movement, which supports the Nigeria Democratic Congress candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticized Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo. This follows Keyamo’s public assertion that a vehicle belonging to Peter Obi was improperly clamped at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Keyamo shared surveillance footage on Friday, claiming it proved the vehicle broke parking rules at the facility. He subsequently demanded that the former Anambra State governor pay a fine of N25,000 and issue a formal apology within one week.

Dr. Adefolaseye Adebayo, the South-West Coordinator for the OK Movement, argued that the poor quality of the footage reveals a larger problem. She noted that if airport cameras cannot provide clear identification of individuals or vehicle license plates, it highlights a significant vulnerability for all citizens. Adebayo questioned how national security could be maintained, asking how the government intends to track criminals or identify terrorists if their surveillance technology is this ineffective.

She challenged the minister to apologize to the public for the insufficient quality of the footage, given the substantial funds allocated to the aviation sector. According to the group, Keyamo’s own evidence has inadvertently exposed major deficiencies in Nigeria’s airport security infrastructure.
