Former Senator Gbenga Ashafa has called on the people of Lagos to back the 2027 gubernatorial bid of Dr. Obafemi Hamzat. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ashafa highlighted Hamzat’s extensive experience and leadership skills as essential for maintaining the state’s current momentum. He described the All Progressives Congress candidate as a reliable public servant whose past performance makes him the ideal successor to continue the progress started by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Ashafa addressed concerns regarding internal party strife, stating that the APC remains unified and fully focused on securing victory for both Dr. Hamzat and President Bola Tinubu. He encouraged party members to engage with communities directly to emphasize the benefits of steady governance. Additionally, the former senator urged the youth and first-time voters to secure their Permanent Voter Cards, noting that active participation is vital for the health of the democratic process.
Reflecting on the achievements of the current administration, Ashafa noted that Hamzat is uniquely positioned to build upon existing infrastructure and economic developments.
