The Obi–Kwankwaso Movement in Enugu State has warned of active efforts to disrupt the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) by creating artificial divisions. Ani Ifeanyi Moses, the movement’s Chief Press Secretary, issued a statement condemning these alleged tactics, which include impersonation and the spread of false information meant to weaken the party.
The group claims these activities are calculated attempts to undermine the party’s cohesion as supporters prepare for the 2027 general elections. According to the movement, because Enugu is a primary stronghold for Peter Obi, these disruptive maneuvers are particularly targeted. The leadership has urged members to reject any directives that do not come through official channels.
The statement emphasizes that political ambitions must not supersede the movement’s broader goal of establishing a credible alternative for the nation. Supporters are encouraged to remain vigilant, ignore unauthorized announcements, and adhere to the party’s formal internal processes. Furthermore, the group cautioned against manipulating youth for political conflict, insisting that the collective goal of the New Nigeria project is more significant than individual interests.
