A tragic incident has left a family shattered after Ava Rose McCourt, a nine-year-old girl who had just begun swimming lessons, drowned in a pool at Clinton Mobile Home Resort in Tiffin, Ohio.
The heartbreaking event occurred on June 28, while Ava was swimming under the supervision of her father’s girlfriend, Christina Bryant. According to police reports, Ava was using a pool float when Bryant briefly looked away. Moments later, Ava had vanished from sight.
A frantic search ensued, and the young girl was found at the bottom of the deep end by another child. She was immediately pulled from the water by bystanders who performed CPR while waiting for emergency services.
Ava was rushed to Mercy Tiffin Hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead.
Witnesses said there were no signs of distress or splashing, a chilling reminder of how silent drowning can be. Authorities confirmed there was no indication anyone noticed Ava struggling in the water.
Ava had recently started swimming lessons and was excited about learning to swim. Her parents revealed that she was looking forward to her 10th birthday, hoping to celebrate by recording her first YouTube video a milestone she had been eagerly anticipating.

Described as a bright, joyful girl who loved to dance and sing, Ava was known as a good student and a loving daughter.
At the time of the incident, her father, Jesse McCourt, was nearby, fishing at a trailer park close to the resort.
The tragic accident has raised renewed concerns over pool safety and supervision, especially among young children and inexperienced swimmers.
As tributes pour in for Ava, her devastated family is grappling with the unimaginable loss of a little girl taken far too soon.
