During recent anti-theft missions in Delta State, the Nigerian Navy intercepted approximately 105,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil. Carried out by the NNS Delta under Operation Delta Sentinel, these raids also exposed hidden facilities used by criminals to store stolen resources.
Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, confirmed that the seized fuel was split into batches of 60,000 and 45,000 litres, both found in the Oteghele region. He stated that these actions represent the military’s ongoing resolve to dismantle the networks facilitating this illegal trade.
These operations are designed to shield vital oil and gas infrastructure while mitigating financial losses for the country. Captain Folorunsho emphasized that the Navy remains focused on neutralizing economic sabotage and securing the Niger Delta’s maritime territory to foster national stability and economic growth.
