Troops Raid Terrorist Hideouts in Katsina, and rescue Woman Held for 70 Days Nigerian Army troops have launched renewed offensive operations in Katsina State, targeting camps of the notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muritala in Machika and Dankolo villages, Sabuwa LGA.
The assault, which occurred Saturday morning, led to the neutralization of three terrorists and the rescue of a woman held hostage for over two months.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation involved a fierce firefight that forced the bandits to flee into the mountains. No military casualties were reported.
Following the terrorists’ retreat, the troops destroyed their camps, including motorcycles, livestock, and life-support systems, to prevent reoccupation. They also recovered three motorcycles during a mop-up in the Maigora axis.
In a related development, Mrs. Suliat Adam, a 40-year-old abductee from Dankolo village, escaped from a bandit camp after a previous military raid on May 20. She had been kidnapped along the Funtua–Zaria Road approximately 70 days ago. She has now been reunited with her family.

This operation is the latest in a series of coordinated military offensives aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds in the North-West region.
