Coldplay Concert Scandal Takes New Turn As HR Exec’s Husband Reveals He Was There With His Girlfriend
The viral Coldplay concert scandal that cost two top Astronomer executives their jobs has taken an unexpected twist.
Andrew Cabot, husband of former Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot, has revealed that he was at the same concert where Kristin, 52, was filmed cuddling CEO Andy Byron — and he was there with his girlfriend.
While Kristin’s kiss-cam moment with her married boss drew worldwide attention, Andrew was also in the crowd with the woman who is now his partner, though they were not caught on camera. Andrew, who was married to Kristin for two years, has said they were already separated and living apart at the time, describing the split as amicable.
A source told The Times of London that Kristin had been in a private box with work friends, not on company business, and that Andrew was also present with a date. The source defended Kristin’s reaction when the camera zoomed in on her and Byron. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin jokingly remarked from the stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” which helped the clip go viral.
Though the incident led to both Kristin and Byron’s resignations, friends say it was not what it appeared to be. “Kristin wasn’t hiding, she doesn’t know why she ducked. She knew it was inappropriate to behave that way with her boss as head of HR,” the insider explained. They stressed there was no affair, only a hug that Kristin now acknowledges was inappropriate.
Andrew said he was shocked by the media frenzy outside the $2.2 million waterfront home he once shared with Kristin and their two children. Feeling pressured, he confirmed to People that the pair had separated “privately and amicably several weeks before the Coldplay concert” and were already in the process of divorcing.

Andrew’s spokesperson added that he hopes the public divorce filing will end speculation and allow the family to regain their privacy.
Meanwhile, Byron’s marriage did not survive the scandal. His wife, Megan Kerrigan, 50, quickly moved out, returned her wedding ring, and removed his name from her social media accounts before deleting them entirely.
Astronomer, caught in the fallout, suspended both Byron and Cabot before they resigned and issued a statement reassuring clients amid the controversy.
