Nigeria Customs and Police Force officials met in Abuja to enhance inter-agency collaboration on strategic communications, public engagement, and information sharing.

The Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Police Force have pledged to increase their cooperation regarding public outreach, information exchange, and strategic communications. This renewed commitment was highlighted during a meeting in Abuja between the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon, and the Customs National Public Relations Officer, DC Abdullahi Maiwada.

This meeting was part of CSP Okokon’s official introduction following his recent appointment. Both officials discussed ways to improve institutional communication and support national security goals. The visit occurred alongside the induction of 70 Customs public relations personnel into the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, a move reflecting a broader commitment to ethical communication standards.

DC Maiwada welcomed the delegation, noting that the partnership is essential for shaping public opinion and managing government policy outreach effectively. He emphasized that working together allows both agencies to improve their professional capacities.

CSP Okokon echoed these sentiments, stating that the police force aims to maintain strong ties with other government bodies to bolster public confidence. He underscored that in contemporary security and governance, transparent communication is vital. By sharing expertise, the two agencies seek to uphold high standards of professionalism and accountability while serving the Nigerian public.
