New York Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was transported to a medical facility via ambulance after suffering a collapse during a joint training session with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 2024 fifth-round draft pick briefly lost consciousness on the sidelines during a drill, which led to a pause in activities for over ten minutes.
Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that the 24-year-old was awake and speaking before being placed on a stretcher for transport. Glenn noted that Stiggers felt faint after a play but remained responsive. During the incident, teammates gathered nearby to pray or observe the medical response, with running back Breece Hall describing the moment as deeply emotional.
The training session was marked by multiple physical altercations, including a moment where Stiggers’ helmet was discarded during a scuffle with a Tampa Bay player. Stiggers, who has recorded 35 tackles and three passes defended across 29 appearances for the team, is currently under evaluation. The Jets are scheduled to open their pre-season campaign against the Buccaneers this Friday at MetLife Stadium.
