NDC Gains Access to INEC Portal for 2027 Candidate Submissions, Says Dickson

National leader of the NDC, Henry Seriake Dickson, announces the party has gained access to the INEC portal to upload 2027 election candidates while pursuing a legal appeal against a recent court ruling.

Henry Seriake Dickson, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has confirmed that the party has secured access to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal for the 2027 general elections. This development allows the party to officially upload its list of qualified candidates.

Dickson shared this update on Monday via X, noting that the party has filed an appeal and a stay of execution request regarding a recent court ruling that challenged its status. He has formally notified the INEC Chairman of these legal actions, expecting the commission to comply with the law. Dickson asserted that the NDC is a fully registered entity that has successfully finished its nomination processes nationwide.

He confirmed that his information and that of the presidential candidate are already on the portal, with the vice-presidential candidate’s details to follow shortly. The party is working within the INEC deadlines of July 11 for National Assembly candidates and July 17 for gubernatorial and State House candidates. Dickson expressed gratitude to all primary participants and emphasized that internal reconciliation efforts are underway to include all members in future campaign structures.

Furthermore, the former Bayelsa governor urged for the protection of Nigeria’s multi-party democracy, warning against political interference. He commended INEC for its professional stance on recent legal disputes and urged for continued independence of judicial and security institutions. Dickson remains optimistic that the pending legal appeal will be resolved in accordance with the law.
