Minister Idris praises Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan following APRA re-election

Minister Mohammed Idris has congratulated Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan on his re-election as Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association, citing his professional dedication.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, has offered his congratulations to Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan for securing another term as Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association (APRA). Idris noted that this achievement highlights Ibietan’s professional integrity and his significant impact on the field of public relations throughout the African continent.

The election took place during the APRA General Assembly in Swakopmund, Namibia. During the same event, Arik Karani from Kenya was chosen as President, while Professor Michele Mekeme of Cameroon was selected to serve as Vice President. In his formal statement, Minister Idris emphasized that the decision underscores the trust placed in Ibietan by his peers across Africa.

Speaking for the Nigerian government, Idris stated that the re-election brings pride to the nation and reflects the recipient’s high level of professional excellence. He voiced optimism that Ibietan will maintain strong leadership as the association focuses on fostering cooperation among communication experts. Looking ahead, Idris noted that Nigeria is preparing to host the 37th APRA Annual Conference and the World Public Relations Forum in Abuja later this year.
