Military units seize 15 containers of smuggled fuel in Adamawa

Troops from the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion have recovered 15 jerrycans of smuggled petrol in Adamawa State to disrupt illegal supply chains used by criminal organizations.

Soldiers from the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion successfully confiscated 15 jerrycans filled with petrol while conducting a patrol in the Mubi North area of Adamawa State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama released a report on Sunday detailing the event.

The operation took place on July 17, running from mid-morning until late afternoon along Muchalla road. The patrol was initiated after authorities received intelligence reports regarding the illicit transport of petroleum across the border. By securing these supplies, the military aims to prevent fuel from reaching insurgents and other criminal groups who rely on such logistics to sustain their operations. The seized items are currently held by security forces as investigations proceed. Meanwhile, the military maintains a heightened presence along the border to dismantle regional smuggling networks.
