Military saves three hostages and pursues kidnappers in Plateau State

Military personnel rescued three individuals from kidnappers in Plateau State and are now hunting for two other victims who were taken during the same event.

Soldiers participating in Operation Enduring Peace have successfully freed three individuals who were taken captive near the Jos–Zaria Road in the Bassa region of Plateau State. A search is currently underway to locate two additional victims abducted during the same encounter. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident took place on the night of June 24, 2026, near Mista Ali. Authorities were alerted to the kidnapping attempt and moved quickly to the location, causing the perpetrators to retreat.

The survivors, identified as Osuji Franklin, Danjuma Moses, and Irimiya Shehu, suffered injuries during the ordeal and are now being treated at the General Hospital in Mista Ali. While the military managed to interrupt the crime, the attackers had already abducted two other people, named Dayo and Henry Owen, before the arrival of security forces. During the operation, soldiers also secured an abandoned Opel Zafira, registration number RYM 25 A2. Security units are continuing their efforts to find the remaining hostages and apprehend those responsible.
