Soldiers under Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma recently completed a series of successful missions across Kaduna State. During these actions on June 20 and 21, military forces neutralized two suspected bandits and took four individuals into custody. The missions resulted in the recovery of stolen cattle, various weapons, ammunition, motorcycles, and electronic hardware containing data tied to criminal operations.
The initial engagement occurred on June 20 after military intelligence identified cattle rustling in a local community. During the subsequent firefight, two bandits were killed while troops successfully rescued the stolen livestock. Tragically, one civilian was killed by the criminals during this specific confrontation. That same evening, patrols apprehended two additional suspects found in possession of digital evidence connecting them to regional terrorist activities.
On June 21, soldiers engaged armed individuals who fled into the brush. Two suspected informants were caught following a pursuit, with communication devices seized from them during the process. Additionally, troops restored order in Mararraba following a violent incident where a mob killed a woman accused of child trafficking. The military dispersed the crowd to protect infrastructure and reopen blocked transit routes.
The Theatre Commander for Operation Fansan Yamma praised the troops for their discipline and success. He emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to disrupt criminal networks and improve safety for residents across the North-West region.
