Mikel Arteta Pays Tribute Following Passing of Former Arsenal Goalkeeper Alex Manninger
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has expressed his sorrow regarding the death of former club goalkeeper Alex Manninger. Manninger, who was 48, passed away on Thursday.
During a press conference held on Friday prior to Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash with Manchester City, Arteta addressed the loss.
He described the news as both surprising and deeply upsetting.
“Some very sad news, obviously. And we send his family and part of his journey our condolences and love.
“It was shocking news and a difficult one to take.”
Arteta offered his sympathies to the family and those who shared in Manninger’s career, stating that the announcement was hard to process. The manager extended his love and condolences to all affected by the loss.
