The manager, now officially in charge after a productive interim period, noted that the club has not surpassed the £89.5 million record set by the Paul Pogba transfer in 2016. Despite leading the squad to a third-place finish following the exit of Ruben Amorim, frustration is growing among supporters due to lower spending compared to clubs like Ipswich and Coventry. Carrick emphasized that while he focuses on the footballing side, the club must continue to challenge every boundary to facilitate winning.
Regarding the squad, Marcus Rashford has rejoined the team following a loan spell at Barcelona. Carrick praised the forward’s potential impact, expressing excitement about his return. Looking toward the season opener against Hull, the manager remains optimistic that the team has the necessary tools to pursue a major trophy, insisting that the club’s stature demands a push for the league title.
