The Manchester Super Giants secured a narrow seven-run victory over the London Spirit during their clash at Lord’s. Despite a powerful performance from Liam Livingstone, who scored 69 runs off 40 balls, the home side fell short of the 139-run target.
Livingstone’s individual effort included five sixes, and he also contributed with the ball, taking 2-14 earlier in the match. He combined for 68 runs with Dewald Brevis, who managed 22, but the required rate proved too difficult in the final stages. With 12 runs needed from the last five deliveries, bowler Sonny Baker held his nerve, conceding only four runs while dismissing both Livingstone and James Coles to restrict the Spirit to 131-6.
In the first innings, the Super Giants were anchored by Tim Seifert, who hit 67 from 45 deliveries. Although he received support from Jos Buttler and Heinrich Klaasen, the team collapsed late in their innings, losing seven wickets for 35 runs to finish on 138-9. Gus Atkinson was instrumental for the Spirit’s bowling attack, finishing with figures of 2-15.
