During the group stage in Morocco, the team allowed five goals across three matches. This defensive performance is a sharp departure from their previous title run in the same country, where they surrendered only three goals over six games.
Madugu acknowledged that the current trend of conceding avoidable goals is a significant concern that requires immediate attention. He emphasized the necessity for his defensive unit to raise their level of play. The Super Falcons are scheduled to compete against Cameroon in the quarter-finals this Sunday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, with the match starting at 6 p.m. Nigeria time.
