Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has shared his thoughts on new Real Madrid signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, predicting a bright future for the defender at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Alexander-Arnold joined Real Madrid as a free agent this summer after opting not to renew his contract with Liverpool. He is expected to compete with Dani Carvajal for the starting right-back role under manager Xabi Alonso.
Alcaraz expressed confidence in the 26-year-old’s abilities, backing him to thrive at Real Madrid and eventually become the best right-back in the world.
He said via BBC Sport as quoted by Madrid Xtra on X: “It’s great having Trent at Real Madrid.
“Huge respect to him. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be the best RB in the world.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been assigned the number 12 jersey at Real Madrid, a number previously worn by club legend Marcelo.
The England international is also part of manager Xabi Alonso’s squad for the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
