Lagos Police Launch Inquiry into Ammo Delivery to FirstBank MD

Lagos Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani has confirmed an active investigation into a suspicious parcel containing live ammunition delivered to the residence of FirstBank Managing Director Oluwasegun Alebiosu.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, confirmed that authorities have started an inquiry regarding a mysterious package sent to the FirstBank Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu. The parcel, which contained two 7.62mm live ammunition rounds, was reported to police on May 7, 2026, after being received at Alebiosu’s Ikoyi residence by a security guard.

CP Tijani noted that investigators are treating the situation as a priority, although no arrests have occurred yet. The package was labeled as confidential and lacked return sender information, arriving via a dispatch rider during a period when the bank was actively pursuing loan recoveries and implementing operational reforms. Detectives are currently analyzing forensic evidence and pursuing various leads to identify the source of the package and determine if it was intended as a threat. The police command has promised to share further details as the investigation proceeds.
