Lagos State Police recently detained a 24-year-old alleged Eiye Confraternity member at the Ogunmokun Under-Bridge in Mushin. Officers seized a locally fabricated single-barrel pistol during the mission.
Authorities acted after receiving reliable intelligence regarding local cult operations. A surveillance unit was dispatched to the area, resulting in the capture of the suspect, identified as Segun Alani. He was apprehended while carrying a bag that concealed the weapon.
Police officials confirmed that Alani remains in custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, praised the team for their rapid, intelligence-led action. He restated the department’s commitment to eliminating illegal weaponry and criminal gangs. The Commissioner issued a stern warning to all criminal actors to cease their activities immediately or face prosecution. Furthermore, the command is encouraging local citizens to report suspicious behavior via emergency hotlines.
