Lagos Authorities Shut Down Two Hospitality Businesses for Excessive Noise

LASEPA has shut down Westgate Arena Club and Dave Premium and Suites for persistent noise pollution and failure to adhere to environmental compliance regulations.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) recently closed two hospitality venues due to ongoing noise pollution and environmental infractions. The impacted locations include Westgate Arena Club in the Kosofe area and Dave Premium and Suites situated in Alapere, Ketu.

According to an official announcement, the closure followed instructions from the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab. LASEPA noted that these establishments ignored prior warnings and abatement notices regarding their disregard for noise standards and public health protocols.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, the agency’s General Manager, stated that this enforcement is vital to maintaining a healthier living environment for residents. He emphasized that businesses must prioritize environmental responsibility and warned that the agency will continue to take strict action against any operators who fail to comply with state regulations.
