Rabi’u Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has shared his condolences following the death of Adamu Mohammed Fika, a former clerk of the National Assembly. Sharing his thoughts on social media, Kwankwaso noted that Fika was instrumental in establishing the administrative framework for the country’s legislative branch.
During the Third Republic, Kwankwaso served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives alongside Fika. He remembered the late administrator as a person of great discipline, calmness, and professionalism, whose work ethic was widely admired. At the time of his death, Fika was still active, serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Council of Retired Clerks and Secretaries of the National Assembly.
Kwankwaso offered his sympathies to the Fika family, the people of the Fika Emirate, the Yobe State government, and the broader legislative community on behalf of himself, his family, the Kwankwasiyya Movement, and his former colleagues from the 1992–1993 Assembly. He concluded his statement by praying for Fika to be granted peace in the afterlife.
