King Charles reunites with Prince Harry and family after four-year gap

King Charles III met with Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children for the first time in four years at his private residence, amidst ongoing legal and family tensions.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla held a meeting with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children this past Friday, marking the first time the group has gathered in four years. Reports from the PA news agency and other outlets confirmed the reunion took place at Highgrove, the King’s private estate in southwest England.

Prince Harry had traveled to the UK earlier in the week to participate in events surrounding the one-year countdown for the Invictus Games, an organization he established for injured military personnel. Although it was initially reported that Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet would remain in California, they ultimately joined the trip. Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the meeting.

This visit comes shortly after a legal setback for Harry, who recently lost a privacy case against the Daily Mail alongside other public figures like Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley. With further court dates scheduled for late July, the prince faces potential legal expenses. These ongoing judicial battles, combined with his move to North America in 2020 and the release of his memoir, have created a tense atmosphere between the Sussexes and the monarchy. While Harry has expressed a desire for reconciliation, logistical friction remains, evidenced by a recent misunderstanding regarding his potential accommodation at Buckingham Palace.
