Kebbi State Assembly Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru Passes Away in Egypt
The Kebbi State House of Assembly is in mourning following the death of its Speaker, Muhammad Usman Zuru.
The lawmaker, who represented the Zuru Constituency, passed away on the night of Monday, April 6, 2026, at a medical facility in Egypt where he had been undergoing treatment for an unspecified ailment.
Idris Zuru, the Governor’s aide on Communication and Strategy, confirmed the news, describing the Speaker’s transition as a significant loss for both the state and the country.
While the government is still finalizing the details of his passing, an official statement regarding the burial proceedings—to be coordinated with his family—is expected shortly.
