The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken popular TikTok personality, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, into custody in Kano over allegations of naira abuse.
A source within the anti-graft agency confirmed her arrest to Kano-based Freedom Radio over the weekend.
According to Daily Trust, the source stated:
“The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, she will be charged in court for prosecution”
Murja Kunya, who initially started social media as a hobby, has since built it into a full-time career. Her TikTok account, Yagayagamen, has gained widespread attention, though her content has frequently stirred controversy, leading to multiple convictions in Kano State.
Her arrest follows a growing trend, as the EFCC has also taken other TikTok influencers, including Al’amin G-Fresh and Ashir Idris, into custody on similar charges.
