The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully apprehended six individuals accused of kidnapping following a tip-off from a survivor. After escaping his captors, the victim provided authorities with actionable intelligence regarding his place of confinement.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the police spokesperson, confirmed that officers destroyed a criminal hideout located within the Ikara Local Government Area. The victim identified a property owned by 65-year-old Ja’e Samalu as the site of his detention.
Acting on this report, the Ikara Police Division teamed up with local vigilantes to conduct a raid. This operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects, whose ages range from 20 to 65. These individuals are currently detained as police look into their specific involvement in the abductions.
Authorities are still working to track down remaining members of the criminal ring. Commissioner of Police Muhammad Rabiu praised the public for their help and encouraged citizens to keep reporting suspicious activity. He also warned homeowners against allowing their properties to be used for illegal activities, highlighting that cooperation between the public and law enforcement is essential to curbing crime.
