Law enforcement in Ogun State has taken 22-year-old Shaibu into custody in the Ijebu North East region regarding the killing of Umaru Musa, also 22. According to police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the altercation originated from a dispute involving the victim’s younger brother. The case has been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for legal processing.
Separately, police from the Iperu Division successfully saved 29-year-old Sotonwa Oluwameyowa after she was kidnapped on Ogere Road. By collaborating with the So-Safe Corps and Amotekun, officers searched the nearby woods and pressured the captors to abandon the victim. The rescue occurred less than a day after the kidnapping was reported.
Additional police actions included the recovery of a firearm and ammunition in Ajuwon following an assault, the arrest of two individuals for invading a cattle ranch in Itori, and the seizure of two locally-made pistols discovered on a perimeter wall in Agbado. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni praised these efforts and encouraged the public to continue reporting suspicious activity to help maintain local security.
