Newly appointed Germany head coach Jurgen Klopp has laid out strict terms for his tenure with the German Football Association (DFB). Making his first transition into international management following a legendary run at Liverpool, the veteran coach was clear about his expectations.
During his introductory press conference, Klopp addressed his professional future. He stated that he would resign immediately without seeking severance if the DFB or the public determined he was no longer fit for the position. He emphasized that any such decision must be based on a collective sentiment rather than the opinion of a single person. Furthermore, he noted that if his family faced undue harassment, he would step down.
Klopp, who had been away from coaching since leaving Anfield in 2024, views this role as the final chapter of his career. The DFB appointed him to replace Julian Nagelsmann, following the team’s disappointing exit from the tournament after a loss to Paraguay. The association hopes Klopp can replicate the success he achieved during his transformative nine-year spell with Liverpool.
