Super Falcons manager Justine Madugu has announced a 25-woman roster headlined by captain Rasheedat Ajibade to represent Nigeria as they aim to retain their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations crown in Morocco. The list features notable stars including goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, veteran defender Osinachi Ohale, playmaker Jennifer Echegini, and record-holding forward Asisat Oshoala.
The squad also includes local talent Fatima Oloko alongside seasoned international players like Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Esther Okoronkwo, Francisca Ordega, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Omorinsola Babajide. Nigeria enters Group C alongside Egypt, Zambia, and newcomers Malawi, with all their preliminary fixtures scheduled for Rabat.
This expanded 2026 tournament runs from July 26 to August 16 and includes 16 nations for the first time. Success in this competition serves as a direct path to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the four semi-finalists securing automatic berths and the fifth-place finisher entering an intercontinental playoff. After claiming their 10th continental title last year, Nigeria is pursuing an 11th championship.
