Jude Okoye, the former manager of P-Square, has formally rejected accusations from his brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), regarding the alleged diversion of over $1.2 million in music royalties. Jude stated that these claims were previously investigated by the EFCC and are currently the subject of ongoing litigation.
In a recent video statement, Jude accused his brother of manipulating public sentiment while legal proceedings are active. He claimed that Mr P has failed to appear at three consecutive court hearings. Addressing the specific allegation regarding a $25,000 royalty payment, Jude explained that the funds were distributed in 2016 based on Peter’s own request to have his share deposited into a personal account, while the remaining funds were sent to Northside Entertainment.
Jude provided documents to support his assertion that Peter remained an authorized signatory on all corporate accounts. He also contested the claim that he delayed the handover of music catalog records, stating that the files were delivered within six days and that digital logs prove Peter accessed the data shortly thereafter. Additionally, he countered the narrative that Peter only recently started receiving payments in U.S. dollars, citing records showing dollar-denominated payments dating back to 2012.
Asserting that all financial transactions were transparent and followed established agreements, Jude expressed frustration over the personal consequences of the dispute, noting that his accounts have been frozen for two years, impacting his ability to travel.
