General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces for Uganda and son of President Yoweri Museveni, has caused a stir on social media by stating he wants to marry pop icon Beyonce. Kainerugaba openly challenged her spouse, Jay-Z, to a physical confrontation to decide who gets to be with the singer.
Writing on the platform X, Kainerugaba insisted the rapper relinquish his wife. He proposed a fight in Uganda, where the victor would claim Beyonce. To emphasize his status, he claimed his possession of thousands of Ankole cattle makes him wealthier than the mogul. He even suggested escalating the bizarre dispute to the United Nations.
Beyonce and Jay-Z, who wed in 2008 and share three children, have not addressed the posts. Kainerugaba has a history of provocative statements, including a 2022 claim that his military could seize Nairobi and a proposal to pay bride price for Italian leader Giorgia Meloni. He also mandated that female soldiers in the Ugandan military wear skirts. These unconventional remarks from a top-ranking military official continue to invite global scrutiny.
