Flanker Jac Morgan has voiced his full support for Dewi Lake, who will continue serving as the captain for the Welsh national rugby team. Both Morgan and Lake shared the captaincy duties during the 2023 World Cup and are set to transition from the Ospreys to Gloucester in the upcoming season.
Lake assumed the full captaincy after Morgan sustained a dislocated shoulder while scoring a try against Argentina in November. Although Morgan has now rejoined the squad following a lengthy recovery that spanned nearly two years, head coach Steve Tandy decided to maintain Lake in the leadership position. Morgan described Lake as an excellent leader whom players are happy to follow, noting that the squad possesses a strong core of leaders both on and off the pitch.
After missing eight Test matches, Morgan recently rejoined the action during a 33-31 win over the Barbarians at Twickenham. He expressed his excitement at wearing the national jersey once again. Looking ahead, Morgan believes the team is making significant progress under coach Steve Tandy, noting that the squad’s developing identity was evident throughout their recent performances.
