ISWAP Terrorists Kill Four Hunters in Borno
At least four members of the Lawanti Ward Hunters Group were killed by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents during an ambush on April 20 in the Ajiri Gongo village area of Dikwa Local Government Area, Borno State.
The victims—Bukar Hajjabe (50), Bulama Karim (45), Idrisa Gote (40), and Modu Aisami (38)—were reportedly on a hunting expedition when they were attacked. The insurgents also seized four pump-action rifles from the group.
The incident was reported by the hunters’ chairman, Ali Kulloma, the following day. A joint security team later recovered the bodies, which were confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Dikwa and handed over to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.
ISWAP is officially designated as a terrorist organization by Nigeria and several international bodies, including the United States and the United Nations.
