ISWAP Terrorists Attack Travellers in Borno: One Kidnapped, Another Shot
Suspected Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists attacked a commercial vehicle along the Maiduguri-Banki road in Borno State, injuring one passenger and abducting a driver. Intelligence sources informed security analyst Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred on February 27, 2025, at about 1:15 p.m. near the deserted village of Tufa in Banki Local Government Area. According to Bello Abba, the driver of the Toyota Starlet vehicle (Registration Number Adamawa JMT 944 YR), he was transporting six passengers from Maiduguri to Banki when gunmen on motorcycles emerged from the bush and opened fire on his vehicle. In an attempt to escape, the driver made a U-turn back to Banki town.
