Authorities from the Hisbah Board in the Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State successfully halted a transport of alcoholic beverages. The goods were discovered hidden within sacks and various bags as they entered the region.
B. Yareema, the Information Officer for the local Hisbah office, confirmed the enforcement action in an official release on June 26, 2026. This operation was initiated after the board obtained intelligence suggesting that individuals were attempting to smuggle alcohol into the area.
To avoid security checkpoints, smugglers had attempted to mask the alcohol inside common storage bags. However, Hisbah personnel had already heightened their monitoring of local transit routes to counter such methods. The Kadangaru district unit spearheaded the intervention and secured the contraband, which is now held at the local Hisbah headquarters for legal processing.
The board encouraged local citizens to keep sharing intelligence to help officials maintain public order and security throughout the Dutsinma district.
