Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of Service of the Federation, reported on Wednesday that representatives from the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) approached her office posing as officials from a newly formed government agency. Led by an individual identifying as Director General Adeyemi Adeniyi, the group insisted on receiving an official appointment letter for their Chief Executive Officer, citing the Service Establishment Act.
Walson-Jack shared these details during her testimony before a House of Representatives committee tasked with probing the impostor DG following his baseless accusations against Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Addressing the committee, the Head of Service clarified that while her office routinely processes requests for staffing and recruitment waivers for legitimate agencies, this incident was unprecedented.
She noted that despite decades of managing administrative requests within the Federal Civil Service, this encounter was unique in its deception. Walson-Jack concluded that these events highlight the constant efforts by bad actors to outmaneuver government systems.
