Governor Lawal Praises Zamfara Police for Recovering Stolen Livestock

Governor Dauda Lawal has lauded the Zamfara State Police for their successful operation in Gummi, which resulted in the recovery of over 500 stolen animals from bandits.

Governor Dauda Lawal has praised the Zamfara State Police for their courageous efforts in combating banditry. On Saturday, the Violence Crime Response Unit of the command retrieved 329 cattle and 175 sheep from criminal groups hiding in the Gambanda forest, located in the Gummi Local Government Area.

A statement issued by spokesperson Sulaiman Bala Idris noted that the governor viewed these recent police achievements as a positive step toward ending regional insecurity. Beyond the livestock, officers also seized various weapons and ammunition after successfully overcoming the bandits in an armed confrontation.

Governor Lawal highlighted the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammad Bello, crediting his guidance for the recent improvements in public safety. The governor reaffirmed that his administration is dedicated to backing security agencies as they work to defend the lives and property of Zamfara residents.
